Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy

Axis Operating Systems LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”) is the exclusive owner and rights holder of all software, materials, designs, and documentation distributed under the Axis brand (“the Software”). By using any Axis application, website, or resource, you (“User”) agree to comply with this Policy and all applicable intellectual property laws.
1. Our Intellectual Property
- All software, code, documentation, content, graphics, logos, trademarks, and trade dress provided by Axis Operating Systems LLC remain our exclusive property and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
- The software is licensed, not sold. No rights are granted except as expressly provided in your Terms of Service. You may not reproduce, copy, adapt, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.
2. Trademark Policy
- The names "Axis," "Axis Operating Systems," and all related logos are trademarks of Axis Operating Systems LLC.
- You may not use our trademarks, or any confusingly similar marks, in connection with any product or service without our prior written consent. Unauthorized use is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action.
3. User Responsibility & Content Liability
- Axis is a local software application. We do not host, transmit, store, review, or moderate any user-generated content, files, or data (“User Content”).
- You are solely responsible for all User Content you create, store, or manage using the Software, and for ensuring you have the necessary rights and permissions for that content.
- We have no obligation or ability to monitor user activity or User Content, and disclaim all liability for any alleged or actual infringement or unlawful activity conducted by users.
- By using Axis, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Axis Operating Systems LLC from any claims or damages arising from your User Content or your misuse of the Software, including any alleged intellectual property infringement.
4. Designated Agent & Reporting Infringement
While we do not host content, we respect intellectual property rights. If you believe any material distributed by us (such as on our website or in our documentation) infringes your copyright, you may submit a notice to our Designated Agent.

To be effective, your notice must be in writing and include the following, as required by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA):
- A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material.
- Your contact information, including address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
5. Our Enforcement Actions
- Upon receipt of a compliant notice regarding materials we control, we may remove or disable access to the identified materials at our discretion.
- If we receive a valid complaint that a user is using our Software to infringe on third-party rights, our sole and exclusive remedy, at our discretion, will be to terminate the infringing user's software license. We have no ability to remove content from a user's local device.
- We are under no obligation to respond to notices that do not comply with legal requirements. We reserve the right to challenge any claim we believe is invalid or abusive. You may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees, for making a false or misleading claim.
6. Third-Party & Open Source Software
The Software may include components from third-party and open-source projects. These components are the property of their respective owners and are governed by their own licenses. Nothing in this policy is intended to limit your rights under, or grant you rights that supersede, the terms of any applicable open-source license.
